Curate on the Hill - February 2022

Tuesday, 25 January 2022 18:58

This month sees the start of a time without Philip, the incumbent of this benefice. This might not mean a lot to most people, but we start a process of trying to find a new permanent priest. This is a challenging and complicated process.  In the meantime I will be still here to serve in whatever way I can. It does not mean that I am now in charge (I am glad to say) but I will be leading services, offering pastoral care and spiritual guidance. Please get in touch if there is something you would like to talk about.

If you are not a church goer but have some questions or just wish to know more, there are a couple of ways in which you can further your questioning. One is ‘Prayer and a Pint’ which runs in the Blue Bell Pub on the second Sunday of each month at 4:30 for a 5 pm start. This informal session involves a short presentation, some group chats about aspects of faith and religion and ends with an opportunity to ask some of those challenging questions to me. This is open to everyone, those with faith, those with questions and those who have no faith at all.

The other opportunity is our lent course. This year it will run again on Zoom. This is not necessarily due to covid but last year (when it was necessary) the feedback suggested that it was a positive and comfortable experience. This year the lent course will be based around the film, he greatest Showman. Please check websites and Facebook for more information.
